Requirements for 5 & 2 week divorce:
- At least one party must have resided in Virginia for a minimum of six months.
- Both parties must be separated for at least six months (no minor children)
- There must be no minor children, no spousal support obligations, and no property division involved.
- Both parties are required to sign the documents in the presence of a notary.
- All documents must be returned within three days to avoid any delay.

- Publication in the Newspaper (4 Week Process)
- Publication costs are estimated and may vary based on multiple factors. Any additional fees required for publication will be communicated to you in advance.
- A court appearance is REQUIRED, which includes both the attorney and the client being present in court.
- Without spouses’ signature.
There are three primary requirements to meet:
- You must currently be a Virginia resident and have lived in Virginia for the last six months.
- You must have been separated from your spouse for at least one year (Or, for six months if you have a written and signed separation agreement)
- You are unable to locate your spouse after making legitimate, diligent efforts to locate him/her.
